On Friday there was a report of a Bald Eagle stranded on a rocky bank in the Susquehanna River by a group of kayakers. Luckily our research assistant, John Garrison, was able to rescue the magnificent bird of prey with his coworker Madison Lundon. The Eagle was transported to Chadwell Animal Hospital where it was found to be going blind and likely not able to survive in the wild since its ability to safely fly and hunt are impaired. The eagle was then transferred to Tri-State Bird Rescue in Delaware who will ensure if the bird is healthy enough that it will live out the rest of its days as an ambassador for its species.
