Seeing a Belted Kingfisher is always a special treat and most sightings are brief as they tend to flee quickly when approached. Luckily we were able to place a trail camera near a suspected nest cavity last year and were rewarded with some rarely seen natural behavior. We hope to check on this site in Harford County again this year to see if the Kingfisher, or another cavity nesting bird species, use this unique habitat to usher in the next generation of their kind.
