Our first event with our friends at Stone View Farm was so much fun! Not only was this setting just down the road from our Wildlife Center absolutely beautiful, but the extra space allowed for us to more than double the number of attendees who could marvel at our local fireflies and the wild sounds of summer including a boisterous chorus of Gray Treefrogs.
We started off the event with a talk about nocturnal wildlife as our guests enjoyed ice cream from the barn. We then loaded up the tractor-pulled wagon and ventured down to the woodland trail where we did a night hike down to a secluded campfire ring so we could talk about fireflies and how we can protect them in our own backyards. Once we trekked back up the hill we gathered around another campfire to feast on some delicious s’mores together. It doesn’t get much better than that. We are thankful for everyone who came out to support us and this wonderful local farm while sharing our love for wildlife.
