As we continue gaining momentum on our work to renovate the Susquehannock Wildlife Center and achieve our vision for a unique place for wildlife education, research, conservation, and rehabilitation we need more help from folks like you. To help focus our efforts we have decided to start scheduling a monthly working day at the center where volunteers can help us chip away at reoccurring maintenance tasks as well as various construction type projects to help us move forward. The first date will be on the National Day of Service, this Sunday, September 11th from 10am to 4pm. If interested in helping out, please let us know and we can provide more details. The next working day in October will be scheduled soon.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
– Removing old ceiling insulation
– Cutting and removing invasive rose bushes
– Clean and disinfect animal cages
– Cut and remove old barbed wire
– Sweeping
– Sanding and painting a set of benches
– Repairing broken fence rails
– Clear fenceline of debris
– Weed wacking
