Black Friday #OptOutside Hike along the Susquehanna

November 27, 2015 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

This Black Friday, outdoor equipment retailer REI is making a stand and we are joining them.

“We believe that being outside makes our lives better. And Black Friday is the perfect time to remind ourselves of this essential truth.
We’re a different kind of company—and while the rest of the world is fighting it out in the aisles, we’ll be spending our day a little differently. We’re choosing to opt outside, and want you to come with us.”

What better place to connect back to nature than the mighty Susquehanna? Join us for a beautiful hike along the Heritage Greenway trail that follows the old railroad bed.

We will meet at 10:30am at Rock Run Grist Mill parking lot and hike north up toward Conowingo Dam. It’s about 3.5 miles each way if we go all the way to the dam but folks are free to come and go as they please. Along the way we will obverse the wildlife and habitat that borders the western shore of the Susquehanna River. Bring your cameras, water, a snack, and hiking boots. Be prepared to see lots of bald eagles!

Meeting address for your GPS is the parking area found at:
698 Stafford Rd, Havre de Grace, MD 21078

Trip leader / Master Naturalist – Scott McDaniel 443-340-7980
