Join us on a walk through our forest and meadow to witness one of nature’s greatest wonders, the bioluminescent symphony of light put on by the firefly, a tiny native beetle that is known for its ability to communicate through its built in illumination. We will discuss ways you can encourage fireflies to live in your backyards as well as talk about and hopefully discover some other nocturnal wildlife. We will give you a first look at our stargazing and wildlife viewing platform as we listen for wildlife such as owls and coyotes.
After our hike we will gather around our campfire ring to enjoy some s’mores and talk about our work with local wildlife.
** This event is weather dependent, our rain date will be Saturday 7/21 at the same time.
** Event is limited due to parking and seating at our campfire ring.
