Wondering why we’ve been jumping in rivers and taking water samples lately? Join us at Anita C. Leight Estuary Center as we talk about our eDNA project with the Eastern hellbender as part of their speaker series. The hellbender, the largest salamander in the US, could still be found in northeast Maryland despite not being seen for many years, and we’re using a new technique with eDNA to try and track it down while learning about the technique’s role in conservation biology. Be sure to stop by and learn more!
