The Wild Bunch – the notable & notorious group of community activists who believe in our mission to stand together to protect our wildlife!

Their mission, to become one of our wildlife ambassadors – fundraising and advocating on behalf of the Susquehannock Wildlife Society.

But this is way more than a mission – it is also a competition! The ambassador to raise the most funding will be announced the evening of our “Night with the Wild Gala” as the 2016 Ultimate Ambassador for Wildlife – a title and trophy that will be held for a lifetime!

Harford County Living (harfordcountyliving.com) is a popular growing website which promotes businesses, events, people, real estate and more in Harford County. Launched in 2012 by a local Marine Corps Veteran as a side project, it has grown to the point where it now attracts over 82,000 New Visitors a month and gets well over 7 Million hits a month. What started as a little project, is now a full time business. Join Team Harford County Living as they raise funds to support our region’s first dedicated wildlife center. THE FEATHER MERCHANTS

The Feather Merchants is a team that grew up with animals in the classroom. Long gone are the days when we could observe, handle, and learn about or local wildlife in our schools. We have fond memories of snakes, turtles, fish, and birds in our classes. Our hope is to help raise the funds to get the Susquehannook Wildlife Center up and running so our future generations can learn what lives in our own backyards. And more importantly how to protect and preserve this wild life. Join The Feather Merchants as they raise funds to support our region’s first dedicated wildlife center.

Our unique blend of multidisciplinary staff consisting of ecologists, geomorphologists, landscape architects, and construction specialists (to name a few) has over 95 years of experience in all aspects of ecosystem restoration working closely with a variety of public and private stakeholders.

Through design, construction, and ecosystem credits, we strive to negate existing and future impacts on the natural environment. We understand the importance of ecotones between natural and man made environments and embrace the opportunity to restore and preserve their function and integrity. We pride ourselves on the ability to provide these services at a competitive price to a diverse group of clients; including public and private developers, landowners, governmental agencies, and nonprofit organizations.  As a member of the Wild Bunch we seek to help local wildlife and our partner organization, Susquehannock Wildlife Society create a wildlife center in Harford County.

THE PRECOCIOUS POSSUMS

The Precocious Possums are mostly made up of Veterinary technician students from the Community College of Baltimore County and a few of their friends. Everyone has a true passion for animals and some even want to pursue a career in wildlife rehabilitation.

NORTH HARFORD HIGH SCHOOL TEAM  – The Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences Magnet (NRAS) is composed of three clusters focusing on Large Animal / Equine Sciences, Plant Sciences, or Natural Resources Sciences.  Students from this program have joined the Wild Bunch to help advocate a bright future for local wildlife and natural resources in Harford County so that their generation and future generations may it for years to come.

The only Wild Bunch team of the four-legged variety.  This two dog team is a long time supporter of Susquehannock Wildlife Society and have worked hard to raise a nice donation to help create the wildlife center.

TEAM CHAD SHRODES

Chad Shrodes is the Council Member for District D and was elected to his third term of office in 2014. His district encompasses northern Harford County, including the communities of Jarrettsville, Norrisville, Whiteford, Street, Dublin, Darlington, Level and Forest Hill.

Councilman Shrodes, a graduate of Towson University, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and Environmental Land Use Planning.  Prior to his tenure on the County Council, he was employed by Harford County Government and the State of Maryland as a Land Use Planner in the areas of Historic Preservation, Land Preservation, Development Review, and Forest and Tree Conservation.

Councilman Shrodes is an active member of numerous community groups including the Jarrettsville Lions Club, Mason Dixon Community Services, the Harford Center, and three Community Advisory Boards.

He is a staunch advocate of protecting Harford County’s rural heritage, the environment, and agricultural industry and has played a key role in the County’s Land Preservation program.

An avid conservationist, Councilman Shrodes was an early promoter of the State’s Rural Legacy Program in Harford County and recently succeeded in expanding the designated area.  He has been a member of the Harford Land Trust for 20 years, and enrolled his property in the Conservation Resource Enhancement Program (CREP) in 2000.

Councilman Shrodes has participated in Harford County’s Annual Arbor Day Celebration every year since its inception.  He has volunteered for countless tree planting projects enhancing wildlife habitats in Deer Creek, Big Branch, Eden Mill, the Broad Creek Boy Scout Camp, Izaak Walton League Sportsman’s Chapter and Harford Glen.  He is a lifetime member of the Eden Mill Nature Center in Pylesville and a longtime supporter of the County’s Buy Local efforts, the Farm Bureau, and 4-H.
